LAUNCHING OF THE ORGANIZATION OF LATIN-AMERICAN AND CARIBBEAN TOURISM (OLACT) WEBSITE

OLACT is pleased to announce the launch of its website - wwww.olact.org. Giving all the relevant information on the Organization, the website will keep evolving with time, striving to maintain the highest level of useful material for all tourism stakeholders in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Understanding the importance of the various social media outlets and desiring to reach everyone on their preferred on-line information channels, the website will serve as an integrated platform to connect OLACT with its parallel business-user-generated content sites such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

The main programs of OLACT are detailed in the website, namely,

 

 

Financing for tourism development projects. The financing component of the OLACT seeks to support its members in the identification of priority areas for investment, preparation of funding requests and negotiations with national, regional and international donor organizations and financial institutions.

Education: The training component of the Organization puts an emphasis on practicality and brings together the real world experiences of different stakeholders within the tourism industry. The goal is to maximize on their various experiences and to facilitate the transfer and adaptation of these to the context of other organizations or groups. The training will be tailor-made and specific to the needs of the OLACT members, from and for the LAC region.

Technology: The mission of the technology component of the OLACT is to create a meeting point for the public and private actors from the tourism industry which will enable them to establish contact with service providers and developers of new technologies.

About the OLACT

The OLACT is a not-for-profit organization aiming at fostering cooperation within the Latin-American and Caribbean tourism industry, strengthening measures to protect the environment through the tourism activity and promoting the improvement of quality in the offer, promotion and exchange of tourism services. To achieve its mission, the OLACT offers technical, practical and tangible assistance to its international, national, regional and local public and private members. The OLACT´s headquarters are located in Mexico City and counts with a multinational team of professionals from several countries of the Latin-American and Caribbean countries.
