TBEX Athens 2014

TBEX, the world’s largest gathering of travel bloggers, writers, new media content creators, and social media savvy travel industry professionals took place in Athens from 23-25 October and Toposophy’s team was at the centre of the action. 

Held at the Megaron International Conference Centre, the event brought together the travel industry, tourism boards (DMOs), travel writers/bloggers, video makers and photographers to network, learn and discuss all aspects of travel blogging, a media channel that is undoubtedly occupying an increasingly important role in the field of tourism marketing. 

Today, whatever your niche, your interest, whether it’s diving, driving vintage cars, hot air ballooning or hitch-hiking, there is a community of people out there blogging about it, and when destinations think creatively, they can tap into this stream of creativity and work with bloggers to reach totally new audiences around the globe. As the relationship between bloggers (some professional, some amateur) and DMOs evolves, leading events such as TBEX are there to push the debate forward and help both groups work more effectively together. 

Marking its position as a forward-thinking and creative agency, Toposophy managed the event on behalf of the Athens Convention and Visitors Bureau, ensuring the smooth running of such a huge event and that the city didn't miss out on having such a huge gathering of talented bloggers in town.
