A COMMON, INSPIRING VISION FOR DDMMOS

That’s not a typo. In the future we see successful city marketing in the hands of the destination development, management and marketing organisation. Recently we presented our ideas in the Manifest on the Future of DMOs, a pioneering paper produced with European Cities Marketing. The Manifest is composed of eight key themes: social sustainability, place building and branding, liveability and localism, partnerships, new funding schemes, the sharing economy, security & crisis management and smart cities. We know that many DMOs are going through challenging times, but inside the Manifest we describe why and how these vital organisations can assert their role in place building and branding in order to face the future with confidence.
